Statewide Meeting Tomorrow

Posted on

I hope to see many friends tomorrow – sounds like a great day planned.

If you’re still deciding: here’s the day’s schedule:

See you there!

Are you planning to attend BEA?

BEA is like Christmas for me. I love chatting about books with bloggers and other librarian. I adore stalking chatting with authors. I like talking with publishers about books I really enjoyed and upcoming books I can’t wait to read. Basically, it’s one of my favorite days of the year. If you haven’t been, look into it, because it’s simply amazing.

Plus, you can get a little break if you’re part of the CT Library Consortium (and also if you sign up before May 5th!)

Thanks to the CLC for the discounted rate! (to get the discount, register using the link from here)

Podcasting Workshop at WLSC!

Posted on Updated on

We’re not far away! Not many have signed up and I hate for all you Eastern Connecticut people to miss this Audio Editing & Podcasting Workshop – it’s the only time it will be held at WLSC (March 27th from 9-4). Please check it out!

Topics covered include: what software and hardware is needed, steps for creating & publishing a podcast, hands on time recording & editing audio with Audacity, importing music to enhance your audio (copyright free of course!), ideas for podcasting in the library.
The instructor is Polly-Alida Farrington, President of PA Farrington Associates, a consulting firm specializing in internet training and website development. Before forming her own training and consulting firm in 1997, Polly was a librarian at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for 17 years, working in Reference, Government Documents, ILL and Automation. She is a graduate of State University of New York at Albany.
